List of Non-Organic Ingredients Allowed as Processing additives in Organic Food

Just a note about manufacturing and USDA certified Organic and Made with Organic products for both food and body care products. Most people look at the list and then try an examine each ingredient and its benefits, side effects and other actions. However this simplified view is based on a lack of a deeper understanding of how many of these ingredients are actually used in Certified USDA Organic products. Having had more than 10 years of experience in formulating and manufacturing Certified USDA organic products it really comes down to the integrity of the company.

Also keep in mind that just because a product in USDA organic does not mean that it is healthy or alkaline on the body, for example products made with organic sugar are not going to be healthy or alkaline on the body. Just because the cane sugar is organic does not now make it healthy! But naturally growing cane sugar organically using no chemical pesticides and fertilizers is a lot safer and kinder to our environment. So if you are going to use sugar then choosing organically grown is the better option. Not to mention that in many cases organic food and fruit taste so much better than commercially farmed produce, another very good reason to choose organic.

The ingredients listed below can only be used as either processing aids or in very small quantities. For example Potassium hydroxide can be used when processing certain beauty products and creams, however in certain manufacturing processes this ingredient is used as a catalyst and in reality is used up during manufacturing process and is no longer present in the final product. However it has to be listed as an ingredient on the label simply because that is how the regulations are written.

In conclusion buying organic that is grown in the US is a net positive for your body and for planet earth.
